Lunch Choice for Today:  Chicken Taco Salad, beans, salsa, fruit, veggies and milk.


We will be testing in periods 4, 5 and 6 today and students will be released at 11:30 to go to lunch or to leave campus.  Busses will not run until the regular 4 pm dismissal time so you must have your own transportation home.  There is no school tomorrow, Thursday.  Tomorrow is a make-up day only for students who still need to complete a final exam.


There is a sign-up sheet in the front office for any student interested in trying out for cheer leading next year.  The head coach position is currently open but when the new head coach is hired they will need your contact information for summer work-outs.


The Town of Hurley will be hiring lifeguards for the summer pool season.  Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.  Applications can be picked up at the Town of Hurley Town Hall located at 101 Cortez Avenue.


The Village of Santa Cara will be accepting applications for their Summer Youth Conservation Corps program.  Students 14-18 years in age may pick up an application at Santa Clara City Hall.  The deadline for submission is May 28.  There is a Community Orientation today at 5 pm at the Santa Clara Armory for those wanting more information.


On Friday, January 26th, there were three teachers’ cars vandalized here at the high school.  Cobre High is offering a $100 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals involved.  All information will remain anonymous.

Unexcused Late Work Acceptance Policy

 Cobre High has instituted an “Unexcused” Late Work Acceptance Policy.  This policy does not apply
to students who are absent and receive an excused absence for a health or family situation, or for
  missing school due to a school activity.  This policy applies only to students who are present in
class and are given a due date on an extended assignment and fail to turn in the assignment on
the due date. This is considered unexcused late work.  Unexcused late work will only be accepted
up to four school days from the due date. 

 A grade penalty of 10% off for each day late will be applied.  For example; if an assignment is due
on Wednesday a student may still turn it in by the end of school on Tuesday of the following week
 for partial (40% off the final grade) credit. 
This policy is effective school-wide in all core and elective classes.
