Lunch Choice for Today:  Taco Supreme & Pinto Beans with Salsa, fruit, veggies and milk.


There is a “Spirit Bus” to Hatch this Friday.  Cost is $5 and students must sign-up with Mrs. Marquez by Thursday.  Permission slips are available in the front office.


Homecoming pictures are in, you may pick them up in the library.


Best of luck to our Lady Indians volleyball teams as they’ll be on the road today to play the Lady Tigers of Hot Springs.  Our Lady Indians will be back on the court Thursday, as they’ll travel to Silver to face the Lady Colts.  


There is After School Tutoring today in Mrs. Ryan’s room.


Girls’ basketball will continue to meet after school this week at 4:15 Monday and Wednesday 
at the track and Tuesday and Thursday at Bayard Elementary.  Try-outs begin on Monday,
October 31st
 @ 4pm. You must have a physical to be able to try-out. 


Picture retakes will be on Thursday, October 27th at 1:00 p.m.  Any student who did not take their picture or would like to retake a picture, please sign up with Mrs. Chavez in the library.


The CHR Club is sponsoring “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” T-shirts sales from Oct. 11th – 26th
T-shirts are to be worn for the Cobre vs Socorro football game on Nov. 4th.  Cost for the t-shirts is 
$12 with $2 added for Double X sizes.  Bring your payment to Mr. Sanchez in room 142
by Oct. 26th, or see any of the following CHR members: Raquel Parga, Angel Holguin,
Alyssa Trujillo, Brianna Martinez, and Ashley Esqueda.


Students there is no school this Friday the 28th.  Friday is a designated Staff In-service Day
across the district.


Attention all seniors--baby pictures, senior pictures and quotes for the 2017 yearbook are due to 
Mrs. Chavez by October 31st.

Unexcused Late Work Acceptance Policy

 Cobre High has instituted an “Unexcused” Late Work Acceptance Policy.  This policy does not apply
to students who are absent and receive an excused absence for a health or family situation, or for
  missing school due to a school activity.  This policy applies only to students who are present in
class and are given a due date on an extended assignment and fail to turn in the assignment on
the due date. This is considered unexcused late work.  Unexcused late work will only be accepted
up to four school days from the due date. 

 A grade penalty of 10% off for each day late will be applied.  For example; if an assignment is due
on Wednesday a student may still turn it in by the end of school on Tuesday of the following week
 for partial (40% off the final grade) credit. 
This policy is effective school-wide in all core and elective classes.

After school tutoring begins the week of September 26, 2016.  Math is on Mondays and Wednesdays
in Mrs. Grijalva's and Ms. Otto's classrooms and English is right after school
on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Ryan's and Ms. Law's classrooms.
