A reminder to students, please return the signed signature form from the last page of the Parent/Student handbooks, to your first period teacher ASAP.  Students who do not return the signed signature form which includes the internet acceptance policy, are not allowed to use the schools computers for research class work.  They will have to use printed materials.

All students must have a parking permit to park on campus.  See Mrs. Marquez in the front office
if you still need to get one.

Also, students getting to school tardy to first period must report to the front office for an excuse
to class.

Today during Advisory there will be a freshmen class meeting in the upper eastside balcony of the gym.  Any freshmen wanting to run for a class officer, please see Mrs. Jaeger or Mrs. Montoya in the business building.  Our volleyball coach, Coach Wallace, will also be at the freshmen meeting to encourage girls to come out.

Students interested in running Cross Country have until Aug. 23rd, to join.  Practices are held every day after school starting at 4:15.  We meet by the outside big gym doors closest to the track.  See the XC coaches after school if you have any questions.

Homecoming 2017 Spirit Week T-Shirts will be available to order starting today through Aug. 24th.  Order forms will be delivered to students during 3rd period today.  Cost is $10 with larger sizes slightly more.  Freshmen T-shirts are white, sophomores are grey, juniors are red and seniors are black.   Staff t-shirts are also available in heather grey.  Bring your order form and payment to Ms. Garcia in room 155 by next Thursday, August 24th.   Earn Spirit points for your class by wearing your class T-shirts during Homecoming Week!

A trip to Peru will take place the summer of 2018.  If you are interested, you’re invited to
attend a meeting with Ms. Gonzales her room.

Unexcused Late Work Acceptance Policy

 Cobre High has instituted an “Unexcused” Late Work Acceptance Policy.  This policy does not apply
to students who are absent and receive an excused absence for a health or family situation, or for
  missing school due to a school activity.  This policy applies only to students who are present in
class and are given a due date on an extended assignment and fail to turn in the assignment on
the due date. This is considered unexcused late work.  Unexcused late work will only be accepted
up to four school days from the due date. 

 A grade penalty of 10% off for each day late will be applied.  For example; if an assignment is due
on Wednesday a student may still turn it in by the end of school on Tuesday of the following week
 for partial (40% off the final grade) credit. 
This policy is effective school-wide in all core and elective classes.
